How to use “Projects” and “Tasks”

Using “Projects” and “Tasks” can help track where your team is up to and it can break down larger “Projects” into smaller pieces. To get started you will first need to create a “Project”.

  1. To get started, you will need to click on the “Projects” tab on the left-hand side. If you currently do not have this, please submit a support ticket and we will add it for you.
Click on the projects tab
  1. To create a new “Project”, click on the new button on the top left.
  1. It will open the “Create Project” window; the more information you add here, the easy it will be to track and identify in the future. Once done, click “Create”.
The Category field labels the project so it can be displayed on project boards and other things. It can also add a list of pre-configured tasks for you. If it is something your team will need, please submit a support ticket with a list of tasks you would like automated, and we will set it up for you.
  1. After pressing “Create” it will open the individual “Project”.

1 – Add a description for the project here.

2 – Sometimes it will automatically create your first “Task”. Don’t worry, you can edit the title by clicking on it.

  1. After clicking on the “Task”, it will bring up the “Task” window. It is essentially the same as a “Support Ticket” but is internal to that project only.

1 – You can change the title here.

2 – Add a description for the “Task”.

3 – You can @ tag your team and communicate internally here.

4 – Press the save button once you have entered the required information. (Or click a blank space and it will autosave).

  1. After clicking “Save”, it will return you to the “Project” screen. You may have to reload or refresh the page to show the changes.
  1. Click the “New” button inside the task column to create another “Task”. We use them to identify each step of a larger “Project” and assign each “Task” to individual team members, or it acts as a reminder of the steps required to finish the “Project”. Great for tracking the progress at a glance.
  1. Repeat step 5 on creating the “Task”

9. A quick reminder you can add “Files” to individual “Tasks”. It makes locating needed “Files” very fast.

10. Once you have finished creating your “Tasks”, as you or your team members finish each “Task”, click the “Complete” button. This lets you identify what has been done at a glance and allows you to see where the team is up to.

11. We hope this introduction to “Projects and Tasks” helps you start using them. They require some time to input, but we have found them a game-changer in our processes. If you need a more in-depth tutorial or have any questions, please submit a support ticket, and we will help you.
